I'm up at the Design in Papers blog today with this card. I found a brown paper bag and wanted to see if I could make it into a card of some kind. I used decorations from the Pink Paislee collection called Cedar Lane. I think it's really pretty and it works for Valentines day too as you can see. I love the stitched border dies by Lawn Fawn, they can make even a brown paper bag look a bit dressed up.
Today I'm up at the Design in Papers blog with this card. I love stacking decorations to make cards and there was even a sentiment on the acorn. Everything on this card is from the Cedar Lane collection by Pink Paislee. I really love the papers and decos, they are just lovely colors and lots of glittery accents.
I had to take a small break from all the Christmas cards I was making just for a while. I have a bunch of cards that I made on the crop I went to to blog, I just haven't felt like spending a lot of time at the computer lately, but they will be up as soon as I have an hour or so to spare for that. Until next time, take care :)
This is a rare occasion, I made a layout and I also used a picture of.... wait for it.... ME! This almost never happens, mostly because I never get caught on photo. And because I don't like to scrap pictures of me. But the colors of Cedar Lane was perfect for the photo of my accidentally new hair color. I grabbed the wrong box of color in the store and my hair turned out a lot darker than I was used to.
I didn't use any patterned papers, just the decorations. They are all super pretty and since I stopped making 12x12 layouts they are often enough. I've stopped hoarding the decos. I realise now that I even if I throw almost all of them on one single layout it's ok. I'll probably not make enough layouts at a short period of time to run out of pretty decorations. ;) I do use them for cards too sometimes but it doesn't take many to make a card either. So I might as well use the ones I've got, they are no use hanging around in their packaging. Which someone seriously should re-make into ziplock bags for easier storage and use. The person putting them in those boxes obviously never used decorations ever in their lives. Ziplock bags, please, someone!
I'm glad I got in the mood for a layout, it doesn't happen often anymore. I seem to have gotten the card making bug and it's chronic ;) This is my post for Design in Papers this week. I'll be back soon but probably with a card or possible an art journal page.
This is my card for DESIGN in PAPERS today. I made a star shaker card using one of the tags from Tag, you're it from PrettyCraftyStuff to use as shaker part. I filled it with some chunky glitter, but I think all the lovely papers makes this card. They are all brand new, Cicci brought them home from CHA and I got to pick my favourites. This is Kaisercraft, Lawn Fawn and Doodlebug in a lovely mix. It makes me happy to use graphical patterns and bold colors.
Hopefully I'll be back with some pictures from my trip to Birmingham soon. If I remembered to take any ;) Hence the hopefully. I tend to get a bit overwhelmed and totally forget to take any. And that is why I'm more of a cardmaker than a scrapbooker.
I have this pile on my desk with bits and pieces from other projects that fails or that I don't use and this card is pretty much made from that pile. The background was a layout that never became done, the diamond is a Pretty Crafty Stuff cut file that I was supposed to use for something but never got to. I keep forgetting how nice it looks cutting things from patterned paper. This is my post for DESIGN in PAPERS this week, I love the puffy sticker from Amy Tan.
Thank you for stopping by today. Just a friendly reminder, if you are interested in buying some lovely cut files from Pretty Crafty Stuff (link up in the top right corner of the page) there is a 20% off coupon code avalible on the Pretty Crafty Stuff facebook page. Valid through january 2015. Have fun :)
I got this idea of making a shaker with different material in different parts. I could not stop thinking about it and had to go through my stash to find some material that would make a great double shaker card. I came up with this umbrella from Pink Paislee. I was thinking that the skies was gray but under the umbrella it would be sunny.
Just look at that shaker! I just love it! I had to toss my first try but this turned out just like the image in my head. I'm just so happy! Silly huh? but I get these ideas thet just needs to be done, I was thinking about this for a few days before making it. And sometimes but not very often they turn out just like I thought they would or even better and then I'm totally happy for a long time :) I love coming up with new ideas! Must be the technical part of the brain that wants to have fun too.
Anyways, be back tomorrow with a card for DESIGN in PAPERS. I hope you'll be back again then :) Thanks for stopping by, YOU make me happy when skies are gray!
For todays post at DESIGN in PAPERS I made two cards using Pebbles Birthday Wishes collection. I made a couple of birthday cards coloring the images with Spectrum Noir Blendable Pencils from Crafters Companion. I’ve said it before but I love how easy these pencils are to color with. It’s way faster than using Copics and so easy to get good results. I will not abandon my Copics but this is fun :)
This stamp is called Ballerina Kiddo (from Stampendous), she is vey cute!
I’m working on a video showing how I use the pencils, I think it will be up next wednesday if all goes well. See you later today for my solo post at ABNH I hope :)
After a lot of fights trying to learn the stupid editing program and getting it to upload the video I finally succeeded. Victory! ;) I WILL learn this and then there will be more videos because I like making videos, I just hate feeling stupid trying to edit it. So, here is a card I made for DESIGN in PAPERS a while ago. I hope you like it. I did speed it up quite a bit since I’m very slow and I don’t think you would like a 30 min video with me moving in sloth speed. Next time I think I will zoom in a bit more and see if I can get better light too.
Thanks for stopping by, if you like the video please give me thumb up and I’ll know I should make more videos. :)
I had some unblogged cards laying on my computer and since it’s raining and everyone in my family is kind of busy with their own stuff at the moment I thought it would be a great time to get ahed and fill up some empty days in the blog.
Here is a card I made from the leftovers from a bookmark I blogged earlier. I just added some stickles and inlayed the XOXO and the feather in the backgound that I think I might have made with distress inks (I honestly can’t remember). I just added a simple stamped greeting from Hero Arts.
I got inspired by a facebook challenge, one night one challenge. The theme was book cards, and we should add something stamped, some lace and flowers. I made this card using an old stamp from Some Odd Girls. I colored it with Copics and used the Pen Pals collection from Pink Paislee.
I usually don’t do these one night challenges because i always is short of time and end up panicking and this time too. When I had made the card base and colored my image I had like 20 min left to decorate and photograph and add the card to the gallery. Pheeeeww! I was so stressed out! Luckely I had some kind of plan in my head otherwise I would never have made it. And guess what? I won! I got some really nice scrap goodies in an envelope a few days later, among other things a cute stamp from SOG. I love those stamps and now I have two. Yay! (I’m really bad at buying stamps to color, I always end up getting a new set of sentiments for some stupid reason. I just never learn.)
That’s it for today. Thanks for stopping by. Let’s see if I can edit another video too maby. Fingers crossed :)
I felt like doing some bookmarks the other day and made these two for todays post at DESIGN in PAPERS using the Pen Pals collection from Pink Paislee and some Heidi Swapp kraft colored tags. I really like them :)
And this one I made to use up a left over die cut feather from another project. I like it, it’s so pretty with the inlayed feather.
So, that’s it for me today. I have some projects to share but I haven’t had time to blog them yet. I hope they will all be ready to publish soon. But now it’s time for icecream! See you :)
