Since there are a lot of people having their birthday in February and March I have almost reached the bottom of my birthday card pile. Time to make some new ones. This one I made by blending distress inks over watercolor paper and then scribbling Spectrum Sparkle in clear on top of it. I added a big fun glitter foam word and added little hats on them. It's very glittery card but the picture doesn't show it. I'm sure the kids will want to give it to one of their friends.
This was my post this week for Design in Papers by the way.
I wanted to tell my Swedish readers to go check out the CiLi in Papers blog to see info about a workshop coming up in April. Teresa Collins will be visiting the store and is giving a 4,5 hour class making a very pretty album. Go se and sign up, she's very inspiring and nice I've heard. You don't want to miss it!
I print out sheets of toner paper, aka big black square over a full sheet of paper, and use it to die cut stuff and then foil it. It even works in my laminator that isn't really hot enough to give perfect results at all times. This die by Lawn Fawn turned out very nice, but I still wish that I had aMinc to be able to adjust the heat setting. I kept the card simple and added some word stickers that I found in my stash. It's a simple card but the foil makes it special enough.
This was my post for Design in Papers today and I hope you liked it. Thanks for stopping by!
I have a thing for otters. They ar so cute and looks like they have so much fun. So this otter stamp set by Lawn Fawn had to move home to me as soon as it was released last year. It was time to use it again today for my post at Design in Papers. I made this shaker card, I used my sewing machine to make a "flat" shaker card because I don't have the Fuse tool yet. I think I might need it but I haven't really decided yet. I used a Project Life overlay for this window and an embossed piece of cardstock as backing and sewed it shut and it works fine. I used some WOW embossing powder with glitter for the text, I can't remember the name of it on the top of my head but it's really pretty.
I think the otter is sucha cutie. I colored him with Spectrum Aqua in the color Boulder and cut him out and he looks otterly content floating on top of the vellum. ;)
It's Wednesday and on Wednesdays I'm up at the Design in Papers blog. Today I made this really clean and simple card trying some no-line coloring on that cute dog. I used Spectrum Noir Blendable pencils and Lawn Fawn stamps. I think it would be perfect for a guy or a gal not loving cutesy stuff. That dog is super cute, as is all the other dogs in the set. I actually sort of enjoyed this attempt of no line coloring. I usually get terrified by thinking of it so this is a step forwards ;)
I hope you liked it and will be back again soon! Until then, take care :)
I was playing with the minc toner pen and remembered that Jennifer McGuire used it to stamp with so I had to try. I stamped little flowers and ran it through the laminator. I'm pretty sure my laminator doesn't get hot enough because the foil won't stick everywhere but I kind of liked the look of the black peeking out here and there so I decided to let it be that way and go with it. I still wish I had a Minc. I'm pretty sure I'd use it at least five times before forgetting about it and moving on to new things. ;) But on the other hand I'd foil a lot more if the results were better so who knows. I could be foiling everything if I had one. Now we'll never know.
I used Lawn Fawn stamps and colored with my Spectrum Aquas. I love those leaves from Blissful Botanicals. <3
This week everyone on the Design in Papers team is inspired by a moodboard I made. The colors are grey, yellow and pink and theres a lot of circles on it. I started by making a shaker card in the colors of the moodboard and hand drew a background that reminded me of one of the pictures of the mood board. I added some Sparkle pen and hand cut a lot of small hearts.
Then I got the idea to make a spinner card too, the bulb is perfectly symmetric so it worked great.
The back of the bulb with the hear-wire instead.
Spinning, so fun!
Here's the moodboard that inspired the cards. Hop on over to Design in Papers once a day for the next week to see what the others in the team will come up with.
So, I've been a lazy bum all through the holidays and have not been crafting or blogging or pretty much anything but eating and hanging out in the sofa playing Fallout 4 and binge watching Greys Anatomy. But now I'm getting back to regular schedule. Starting the year with a stamp set that is so cute, by Lawn Fawn called Turn me on. And to make the little cute bulbs shimmer I colored them with Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens in Moonlight Pink garnet and then I added a Spectrum Aqua in the color Charcoal for the bases. I also made my own custom strip of striped paper by coloring it with the Pink Garnet pen and then stamping the stripes on top and cutting it out. I found tiny star sequins in my stash that I added here and there for decoration.
I hope you had a great holiday, I really enjoyed mine. My family is not going back to school and job for another week so that's nice. The kids have discovered Rock Band and I get to hear a LOT of Eye of the tiger... So I'm good with hiding out in my scrap room for a while until they learn some new songs ;)
I forgot to post my Design in Papers creation this week on my own blog so here it comes, just a bit late. This year we are class parents for my daughters class. I was in charge of buying a present for their teacher and of course I made a card too. I thought the kids would like this card full of penguins and deer. I colored it with my Spectrum Noirs and added some Sparkle pens too to make it a bit more fun.
The feet and beaks of the penguins got some glossy accent too. The text strip says thank you in Swedish. I hope she'll like it.
I will be back with a long blog post full of christmas cards as soon as I get a moment to spare. It's a lot this time of year, and I have a hard time getting some spare time to do non DT posts too. But I'll get it upp soon I hope ;)
Have a great weekend and I'll be back soon!
I made some tags to bring when I was visiting my aunt who loves to read. I always make sure to have some with me when I go but this time I did not have any laying around so I made new ones. I forgot how fun it is to make tags, they are so small and allows for a lot of playing. I used left over strips of 6x6 paper, the left over pieces from covering a card front is the perfect tag size. I dug into my Lawn Fawn stash and colored with Spectrum Aquas.
This was my post for Design in Papers this week. I'll be back soon again with some new creations. I hope to see you then!
Happy scrapper from Sweden.
