New month means a new challenge at ABNH and this time you need to think outside the box. This months theme is stretch your stamps. You can use a christmas stamp for a birthday card or a circle to make an apple. Or do two cards with different styles using the same set. I made a bright and graphic looking card using Joy to the woods from Lawn Fawn. I used the birch trees as a background and the little bird as an embellishment.
This month we are playing with some new great sets from Lawn Fawn. They are very inspiring as is but you really should hop on over to ABNH to see the other girls using them in some really cool ways.
Our friends at Simon Says Stamp is sponsoring the prize as usual.
I can't wait to see all the clever stretch your stamp creations out there.
Today it's my turn to make a solo post for ABNH and I was in the mood to make a shaker card. I love shaker cards and I love sequins so this was a great match!
We are collaborating with Winnie & Walter this month and I had so much fun using their stamps. As it turns out they are a great match to my trusty Hero Arts stamps, they were just perfect together. Have you seen the latest challenge? It's time to grab some patterned papers and play!
There is a lovely prize from Simon Says Stamp for a lucky winner.
Time for a new challenge at ABNH. This month we are collaboating with one of my favorite companies, Reverse Confetti. I used this confetti cut arrow to make inlayed die cuts, one of my favourite techniques and this die is so much fun! I paired it with a bold sentiment from Hero Arts.
I would love to see what you come up with for challenge #49, it’s all about die cuts. So much fun to do! As usual Simon Says Stamp is sponsoring with a great prize.
Thanks for stopping by! Here is the supplies used for my card.
It’s my turn to make a solo post fro ABNH today and we have collaborated with Paper Smooches this month. I got this artsy set called I heart art and since I had my crafty friend Tesa visiting me for a few days I got inspired to make cards that I can send to my crafty friends.
My friend had some inspirational pictures with her to kick-start our creativity and this card was based on one with some paint splatter. The brush strokes set from Hero Arts is a perfect companion to this Paper Smooches set!
I love the paint brush in the set, so fun to color!
This one was a bonus card, I was playing around with a new embossing folder and the small neon ink cubes from Hero Arts.
There is still some time to enter the current challenge, Simon Says Stamp has generously sponored us with a great prize! One layer cards, now that is a challenge!
Thanks to Paper Smooches who sent me this fun stamp set to play with! And thanks to you for stopping by :)
Some weeks ago I went to a crop on Orust with some of my scrappy friends. It was a lovely day, I had a lot of fun! Ususally I’m crazy productive on this yearly event but this year I only made three cards. I was not in the mood to make any LOs and I had the new Spectrum noir pencils to play with ;) Well, one card I already showed. But here are the two other cards. This first one was made for a challenge where the theme was something sweet. I was so happy with this card, I felt like I was channeling Julie Ebersole ;) Well, as close as I get to her, she is amazing and totally inspiring. :)
This other card were for a challenge where we was supposed to use stamps in ways we don’t usually use them. I saw an amazing card the day before, it might have been in the Studio Calico galleries. I was going to link up to it but well... this was weeks ago and I can’t find it now. Why can’t I just blog stuff as I make them? Anyhow, someone made a really cool card in black and white with a brush strokes stamp, I used mine to make stripes in black and gold on kraft cardstock, just masking a circle to place my foccal image on. here is where I used my stamp in a different way, I stamped the Hero Arts typewriter on sticky back canvas and colored it with the Spectrum noir pencils. It looks kind of cool and the texture is nice. Still not that happy about the card but it’s ok. I had fun making it anyways :)
I had some unblogged cards laying on my computer and since it’s raining and everyone in my family is kind of busy with their own stuff at the moment I thought it would be a great time to get ahed and fill up some empty days in the blog.
Here is a card I made from the leftovers from a bookmark I blogged earlier. I just added some stickles and inlayed the XOXO and the feather in the backgound that I think I might have made with distress inks (I honestly can’t remember). I just added a simple stamped greeting from Hero Arts.
I got inspired by a facebook challenge, one night one challenge. The theme was book cards, and we should add something stamped, some lace and flowers. I made this card using an old stamp from Some Odd Girls. I colored it with Copics and used the Pen Pals collection from Pink Paislee.
I usually don’t do these one night challenges because i always is short of time and end up panicking and this time too. When I had made the card base and colored my image I had like 20 min left to decorate and photograph and add the card to the gallery. Pheeeeww! I was so stressed out! Luckely I had some kind of plan in my head otherwise I would never have made it. And guess what? I won! I got some really nice scrap goodies in an envelope a few days later, among other things a cute stamp from SOG. I love those stamps and now I have two. Yay! (I’m really bad at buying stamps to color, I always end up getting a new set of sentiments for some stupid reason. I just never learn.)
That’s it for today. Thanks for stopping by. Let’s see if I can edit another video too maby. Fingers crossed :)
It’s time for my solo post at ABNH for this month and we have collaborations with two awesome companies. Faber Castell Design Memory Craft and Finding Nana. And of course there are some Hero Arts stamps invloved as usual. Lets get to it!
For my first card I used water color pencils in yellow and pink on some water color paper to make a pretty background. I then stamped the typewriter on top of the colored paper. Then I colored the typewriter with Copics, since the Copics won’t react with watercolor and the colors was so light it worked without problems. The typewriter is small and i made sure to be careful not to damage the tip of the marker on the rough paper. I stamped the typewiter again on regular printing paper and also the sentiment and cut out just the sheet of paper and adhered on top of the watercolored piece. I like the combination of Watercolors and Copics. And the washi is so cute!
On this card I colored a piece of Vellum with the same watercolor pencils and made a shaker card out of it. I turned the colored side of the Vellum in so it won’t smudge and embossed a geeting. I used a sheet of shimmering cardstock as background, it’s very pretty! And again, that washi tape! Love it!
On my thid card I used Gelatos to make a background. I stamped and embossed the hello in black and also made some shading with Distress Markers The Speech Bubble paper clips are from Finding Nana and I think they matched the hellos.
A big thank you to Faber Castell Design Memory Craft and Finding Nana!
I also wanted to remind you there is still time to create for the current challenge, the theme is Bokeh. There is a geat prize from our generous sponsor Simon Says Stamp.
Time for a new challenge over at ABNH :) This time you can make anything but a card. Time to get creative! Since we are having collaborations with Finding Nana who sent me the most adorable decos AND Faber Castel Memory Craft who sent a lot of different art supplies in the way of pens, markers, pencils and crayons I wanted to make a LO. I got a bit artsy fartsy and started out with gesso, stamped one of my new Hero Arts stamp sets all over with inks and big brush pens.
I cut out some stipes of papers with triangle cut outs with my Cameo and shaded them with soft water color pens. I added the decos from Finding Nana, very petty washi tape, some fun paper clips (not sure if that’s what they are called?) and some flair.
Now it’s your turn! The price is donated by Simon Says Stamp, very generous as usual!
Here are the supplies i used, thanks for visiting. Have fun!
The theme for the new challenge at A blog Named Hero is inspired by. And we are to be inspired by the amzing Hero Arts designers. I have two cardmaking gurus that I always find very inspirational and I don’t miss a post or a video from them. Both of them just happens to design for Hero Arts so I had a hard time choosing. The choise was between Julie Ebersole and Jennifer McGuire. I always love Julies pretty cards, so decievingly simple. A style I always try to imitate but never really can. Well, then there is Jennifer, the queen of techniques. And everyone who knows me knows I love techniques. One of my favourite techniques is embossed textue paste, I saw Jennifer do this in her blog and have tried it a couple of times. It is a super cool effect. I’m just a bit impatient and always heat the paste too soon and makes it bubble, which looks cool. But this time I wanted to recreate some cards from Jennifers blog so I made three backgrounds, poured different embossing powders on top. Layed them out to dry over night before zapping them with my heat gun and voila, it turned out really pretty! I cut my mask with my Cameo by the way, I don’t own many cool masks so I just cut them out of ugly cardstock and then I don’t have to clean them after, I just toss them.
This month ABNH is sponsored by Mama Elephant who generously let us all choose a stamp set and I got one with lots of cool sentiments and balloons on. There is a lot of cool stamps to pick from, I had a hard time deciding... On this card I added a starry background from Hero Arts too.
I love the texture on this card. I added neon cardstock for a disco feeling.
I couldn’t resist trying a pop of color and picked a sparkly hot pink-ish color for the embossing on this card. I stamped the greeting in blue and added glitter tape and a strip of patterned paper.
I actually made one more card inspired by Jennifer, but I’ll save that for later.
So, I hope you got inspired to be inspired by one of the amazing Hero Arts designers. As usual there is a prize donated by Simon Says Stamp.
Today I’m doing my first solo post at A Blog Named Hero and I’m very excited to share my three cards using Distress Stains. I have described the techniques used at ABNH so be sure to hop over there if you want to know more.
As usual there is a challenge over at ABNH and the current one is all about layers.
As usual there is a great prize sponsored by Simon Says Stamp.
