Here is a couple of cards I made from images I colored while practicing with my Copics. I love the Tiddly Ink images, they are so cute. I do have a hard time making cards with the images I’ve colored. they all tend to be kind of... square.... I’ll have to practice that too if I’m keeping up the daily copic coloring practice, it’s a shame to let the images go to waste.
Same picture but with the addition of a mailbox. The strips of paper on the side of the envelope paper is actually gold foil, I have no idea why it turned out this way on the image. Very odd...
So, do you have any tips on using colored images on your cards without it looking so... boxy? I do like to keep it kind of CAS, no flowers and stuff... Ideas?
I’ve been trying to practice coloring with Copics every day since I took the Copic certification classes. So, I’ve got a ton of colored images and had to make some of them into cards. This was just a colored image with a silver embossed Winnie & Walter greeting on top. I think the image is so busy it’s hard to embellish. I added some sequins, not that it really needed any but I like them. All of the flowers are covered in clear wink of stella pen and I also used some glossy accent in the middle of the yellow flower and on top of the small roses in the background.
I made this card for DESIGN in PAPERS, I wanted to try combining Copic markers with the Spectrum Noir blendable pencils, and it turned out really good. I made a video showing all the coloring, then I put it all together and it turned out so cute! I just love the soft colors...
Weeeelllllll.... When I started editing the video I briefly thought I was really fast coloring since the whole movie was just aout 20 minutes and I remembered spending a long time looking for the right markers and other stuff that needed to be edited out. Well... Turns out the memory card was full after about half the video was taped. So. No movie today. Sorry.
For all the details hop on over to DESIGN in PAPERS. There will be another post later today, I’m having my day at WOW! today. So do come back if you’d like to see a lovely colorful card with a bit of sparkle. :) Thanks for stopping by!
I got this new set from Lawn Fawn a while back and even though I’ve inked them up a few times I haven’t made any cards with them until now. I just love sushi and could not resist the sushi themed set with fun sentiments. This card I made while waiting for my camera battery to load. I used some of the odd sized scrap pieces of paper on my table. The glitter paper is regular white cardstock that I embossed with calypso glitter emossing powder from WOW, also a scrap piece from another project. I really like this CAS card, and now I’m in the mood for some sushi! :)
Last weekend I went to Uddevalla to take two ECCP Copic certification classes. I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time now. It’s a two hour drive from me so I started early, I left home about 6.45. On a sunday. Yaaaaawn! Well, I had a trusty big pot of coffee with me in the car and a nice playlist on Spotify and I kind of enjoy driving by myself. I must admit I do sing quite load to all the songs, even those I don’t know the words to.
I can’t take pictures and drive (safely) at the same time so this is the one picture of my trip. This is the bridge leading in to Uddevalla. It’s really cool. I love bridges, they are beautiful! And I know the picture is blurry, I was looking at the road ;)
A full day of coloring is so much fun! I learned a lot and was totally inspired! I actually did not use my markers much since the last two classes, I felt a bit rusty in the beginning but it got better during the day.
See, I have taken all the classes needed for the exam now, I just need to practice a LOT before it’s time.
Here are all of us, thanks to our teacher Christina for letting me use her photo. I did not take any pictures except for the ones above. As usual. I had a lot of fun with these ladies!
And when I got home I started practicing. I’ve been practicing a bit every day now. It’s really fun but I feel like I need a few more markers. Isn’t that always the case? I made a plan, thinking I could buy a few every month and then I calculated I would have all of the pens in.... 4 years... yey... I need to win the lottery or something ;) See the two flying dogs above? I colored them to look like our dogs, I got a laugh out of that. Wanted to make the kids laugh but I think I found it funnier than they did ;)
That’s it from me today. I have scheduled 12 (!) blogposts tonight. Tomorrow I’ll edit a video and schedule some for the other blogs I write on too. Busy as a bee I am. But now I’ll see the latest episode of Outlander before sleeping like a baby. Thansk for stopping by! :)
I made this whimsical card for DESIGN in PAPERS this week. And if you think I’m nagging about the great Spectrum Noir Blendable Pencils I actually did not use them this time. I used Copics. Why did I do that? Well I went to take the last two classes for my ECCP Copic certification this weekend and I needed to practice before I went since i have not been using my Copics at all since I got the new pencils. Guess what? It was really hard switching back! So, if you want easy, fast, fun coloring go for the Spectrum Noir Pencils. If you want more challenging, slower, fun coloring go for alcohol based markers like Copics. I like both. And you can combine them. Wich I have yet to try. I will do that, maby for next weeks post.
The rest of the card is pretty stright forward. Some lovely new papers from Studio Calico, some enamel dots and a glitter embossed strip of paper I had left over from another project. And a stamp from my stash that I think works well with the stamp from Stampendous. Fun!
Over and out from me. See you soon, I do have a bunch of cards and some pictures from the Copics classes I wanted to show you but they are all in my new computer currently being fixed. And the cards are on their way to UK, lucky them. They will be showed on trade shows around the world, like CHA. Lucky them. I want to go too :)
I had some unblogged cards laying on my computer and since it’s raining and everyone in my family is kind of busy with their own stuff at the moment I thought it would be a great time to get ahed and fill up some empty days in the blog.
Here is a card I made from the leftovers from a bookmark I blogged earlier. I just added some stickles and inlayed the XOXO and the feather in the backgound that I think I might have made with distress inks (I honestly can’t remember). I just added a simple stamped greeting from Hero Arts.
I got inspired by a facebook challenge, one night one challenge. The theme was book cards, and we should add something stamped, some lace and flowers. I made this card using an old stamp from Some Odd Girls. I colored it with Copics and used the Pen Pals collection from Pink Paislee.
I usually don’t do these one night challenges because i always is short of time and end up panicking and this time too. When I had made the card base and colored my image I had like 20 min left to decorate and photograph and add the card to the gallery. Pheeeeww! I was so stressed out! Luckely I had some kind of plan in my head otherwise I would never have made it. And guess what? I won! I got some really nice scrap goodies in an envelope a few days later, among other things a cute stamp from SOG. I love those stamps and now I have two. Yay! (I’m really bad at buying stamps to color, I always end up getting a new set of sentiments for some stupid reason. I just never learn.)
That’s it for today. Thanks for stopping by. Let’s see if I can edit another video too maby. Fingers crossed :)
New month and a new challenge at ABNH. I can’t belive it’s July already! This month we have all played with stamps from Paper Smooches, one of my favv stamp companies. I love their quirky fonts and cute critters!
This challange is all about coloring and I have used a stamp set called I HEART ART. I made two cards as inspiration for this challenge and here they come.
As usual out generous sponsor Simon Says Stamp is giving away a great prize, a shopping spree at SSS :)
Do you remember the cute little monster guy I used for my sons birthday card? He is from Create a Smile Stamps, a new company that is just starting up. My DT-collegue Christine from ABNH is the illustrator and creator of Create a Smile stamps and I just love her little creatures. She is looking for a guest DT for her very first release and I really want to be one of the first to play with her cute stamps. I went through my stamp stash the oter day and I really have NO CRITTERS!!!! Whaaaat??? None. I need some! If you love cute critters too go check out this blog post and apply to be a guest at Create a Smile.
And even if you don’t want a guest spot, there are some cute feebies like this monster guy and a very cute birdie to download.
On a whole different topic, I wanted to show you my very pretty roses. The garden has been very happy this year (no thanks to me) and it makes me very happy since I love my garden even though I dont have a green thumb.
There are TONS of roses like these and also I’ve got some red and white striped ones that haven’t been happy since I planted them but this year they are looking so lovely. Too bad they have so many thorns, I’m to cowardly to cut some of and make boquets. Nasty thorns. They will have to keep being pretty in the garden instead.
Thanks for stopping by. I’m going to a crop this weekend, looking forward to it! Will probably pack down the whole scrap room tonight (that is late tomorrow night for those who know me, very late... like midnight when I can’t procrastinate any longer). I hope to get lots of inspiration as usual even though my partner in crime Marie can’t come this year since she has to go see Pearl Jam in Stockholm. Tsssk... Priorites ;) (fyi I would too go see PJ, but that is not relevant since it’s not me).
Today I’m blogging this card for DESIGN in PAPERS. Turns out that a card that is entirely covered in glitter is not easy to photogaph in bad lighting. So I’m a tad bit late with todays post since I had to wait for it to clear up a bit to take new pictures. But here it is! I used some Elizabeth Craft dies, double sided tape sheets and lots of glitter.
The sentiment means Happy Birthday and I was intending to give this to my son but since I made it a while back I sort of forgot I had it and yesterday I paniked and made a new last minut card using a freebie from Create a Smile stamps that I colored with copics.
I love this cute guy and so did Viggo. The picture I just snapped with my iPhone before giving it to him, I was in a hurry. I actually printed out two monsters if I would mess up and had fun coloring it in front of the tv later. I’ll probably make him too into a card when I have the time. He is such a cutie this little monster. I actually have some monster friends for him to play with from Doodle Factory, I might have to introduce them and make a card with lots of little monsters on. Oh, all the ideas and no time :-/
Well, I better get back to school work, I just had to get the card up before the day was over. Hopefully I’ll have some scrap time soon to get my mojo back on track. It seems to run away when I don’t get down to my scrap often enough. Keep your fingers crossed that it’ll be back soon! Thanks :)
