Today I'm up at Faber-Castell Design Memory Crafts with another guest post, a page in my art journal.
For all the info on how I made it and a list pf supplies, hop on over to the full post here. At the same time take a look around at all the inspiration, it's a great place for all kinds of information and inspiration if you love Mixed Media and great products.
Disclaimer: I received product from Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft to create this project, but all opinions are my own.
Thank you for stopping by! I do have some happy scrappy news that I hope I can share with you real soon :)
I know nothing has happened here for the last couple of weeks. I've been on vacation and didn't remember to schedule all my own posts before leaving. So this post will be lots of photos and just a bit of text since I need to get on schedule with the regular posts and actually creating new stuff. Phew, vacation is hard work ;)
Here's a post I made for Design in Papers using some Lawn Fawn stamps and the eBrush with Spectrum Noir markers. I love those cute dogs!
Here's some cute owls I made for the A blog named hero facebook post. I cut the thought bubble from post it tape and masked to blend some ink as a background. I love the googly eyes, I borrowed some from my daughters craft box ;)
WOW Embossingpowders did a blog hop with Viva Las Vegas Stamps and I got some amazing mixed media stamps to play with. They look so good with the embossingpowders from WOW! I made this collage styled card in all my favourite colors. I had a lot of fun making this card and I loved seeing all the inspiration from the team. Since WOW is making some changes behind the scenes some of the team are leaving after the hop and I look forward to following their new adventures around the crafty side of the web.
I made this art journal page for CiLi in Papers using some old tags, Gesso, Gelatos and Distress paint. I wrote the text from one of my favourite songs by Pearl Jam on top of them.
Here's another card for Design in Papers, I used a background I made with Aqua Tints and some stickers. I think it looks really fun with the pops of color with the black and white.
And here's another card made for the A blog named hero facebook page. And thats it for me today. will be back tomorrow with my regular post for Design in Papers and then another post later this week with some cards I made when I went to a crop before leaving on vacation.
I did make one more card actually, I was super excited to be a guest at the Hero Arts blog and you can find my post here. I was so happy to have been asked and it was a treat to create for one of my favourite stamp companies :)
I have not had a chance to thank you for all the lovely comments on the blog lately, I have been super busy but I read all comments and they make me so very happy! I'm glad some new readers have found me and I hope you will like my posts that usually are a bit less crowded and a bit more evenly spread out ;)
This is the Art Journal Page I'm posting for CiLi in Papers today. I saw a page with black background and that was my starting point. It didn't turn out like I was planning, it wanted to become something else. I was happy in the end and that's what counts :) I used black gesso for the background, some AquaTints for splattering, and a man cut out from a magazine. Nothing fancy but it was fun to make. Now I'll go back to packing for a crop I'm going to this weekend. See you soon!
Just a quick post with todays Art Journal page for CiLi in Papers. I had the piece of sticky backed canvas on my desk, I used it to wipe up some mist from another project the other day. I made a heart out of it and the rest just happened. Like it should when doing this kind of thing.
Just wanted to post it here too, I'll be back with some more projects real soon. Promise :)
Let's just say that this Mixed Media/Art Journaling experiment is tuning into a slight obsession. I'm really having fun! So first this is my page for CiLi in Papers. I used Distress Paint, water-soluble crayons, texture paste, Magic Medium and some stamps. And a white gel pen.
Take time to do what makes your soul happy, I think that's what art journaling is to me. Just fun and messy and meditative. I love how this page turned out.
I gave monoprinting a try, I got a jelly plate and started playing. I'm nt thrilled about the results so far, I need more practice. Some of them turned out quite fun and I used them as collage backgrounds for some of my pages. Like this one. Very much inspired by Rae Missigman. I love seing her videos on Vimeo, they are so inspiring! I did a bit of everything on this, I used some feathers I made in Illustrator as image transfers, they look kind of pretty .
This page was a disaster, I covered it up a couple of times before this happened. I really like it now but it was a struggle.
And this page I just played and ti turned out really nice. I love adding mist and Distress paint mixed with water on gessoed sufaces and letting it run. It's so pretty.
Well, that's it for today. Hope to see you soon again. Have a lovely weekend <3
I'm back with another Art Journaling page for CiLi in Papers. I was working on the page next to this when I noticed the gradient created by the mists I added to the other page. I was really struggling with the other side and when I saw this I abandoned it to start on this one instead. A very good decision since I later went back to the other side and it looks much better now even though it's not done. Anyways, back to this.
It's nothing special really, just some book papers added to the side and covered in a gesso wash and some distress ink. I made image transfers for the small letters and hand drew the bigger ones. Nothing fancy, but I still like it.
I have been loving experimenting with Mixed Media lately and an art journal is the perfect place to play. I have done some pages earlier but I decided I wouldn't blog them because playing will give some unpredictable results and I kind of like to show things I feel happy about here in the blog. But then I promised to blog Mixed Media in the CiLi in Papers blog every other week for a while and I might as well blog it here too. For those of you who doesn't know, CiLi in Papers is an awesome place to get your craft supplies. It's a huge brick and mortar shop as well as a great webshop. It's also where I started out my designteam adventure a long time ago. It was the first team I applied to and I actually got in, I was over the moon happy that someone actually liked what I made. Happy memories!
I really don't have that much to say about the actual page except I wanted to play with texture paste and this is what happened. I like the colours and texture of the page. I didn't want to put some slarge text over it so I just wrote Just breathe... on the metal tag and called it a day. It's the name of one of my favourite songs by Pearl Jam. I think it went well with the page in some way.
This is my third (!) post today, keep scrolling for my Winnie & Walter guest post and for my Design in Papers post. Be back tomorrow for my third day as a guest at Winnie & Walter! Don't miss it!
There was a challenge at Winnie & Walter called the One challange (since they are celebrating one year this month) and I made an ArtJournal page using their bling stamps. Just one of the shapes also there is one big picture. I know the saying is probably all wrong, but I was in the zone and didn't think about it at the time. It's just my AJ and I rarely even blog my pages. I do think this image transfer turned out kind of fun and I love the confetti around the fox. Those stamps are so useful for so much.
That's it for this time, five challenges I got done. Not bad :) I'm going to try some more of them if I can find the time. I have been so good and worked at getting my DT stuff done in good time giving me some time to do more challenges or whatever I feel like (reacently that means playing a lot of Dragon Age: Inquisition, ehm...). I hope I can keep that up for a while, I love having deadlines (that makes me actually getting to the craft room) but I am usually a last-minute-kinda-gal which stresses me out at times.
I've been doing some Art journaling lately and I wasn't sure I wanted to blog it. Not that I don't like it but it's very random, just playing and the texts often is just something that is stuck in my head from some song or whatever pops up when I'm done with the background or other parts. It's more art than journaling. But I still wanted it here since I sometimes like to go back and look at what I've made through the years. I just snapped the pictures with my iPhone and edited them in the phone, nothing fancy. Here you go.
I was really happy to get published in the last issue of Inzpira Magazine with three of my creations. I made this translucent card with vellum and a transparent overlay.
Also a set of three kraft notecards to give as a gift to someone. I made a photo tutorial for these too.
And I also made a page in my Art Journal.
You can get Inzpira Magazine for your tablet in AppStore and Google Play and it's avalible in both Swedish and English versions. My creations was in the august issue. Thanks for stopping by!
