These are the last two creations for WOW! to take to their trade shows. This card I was really happy with. I used a mask that I cut with my Cameo to make the embossed dots in the background. I also embossed the gold banner and the text on the vellum on top. Very pretty!
Then I got this idea to make ear rings. i used shrink plastic and embossed it to make the triangles. Then I thought it looked a bit plain, I cut out a couple of circles out of corc and embossed it to make it shiny and a bit more sturdy. I used some old ear rings to put it all together and was happy with my new ones.
This weekend I’m visiting my younger brother. Since we saw each other the last time he has gotten married, his wife has had her disputation and this week it is his turn. They do deserve a gift and off course I brought one. It just needed a box. I measured the gift and draw a rectangle that size in Silhouette Studio, I found a box I liked and rezised it so that the bottom rectangle was the same size as my drawn rectangle. That way I knew my gift would fit in the box. Since the box got quite big and didn’t fit my 12x12 cardstock I got out the big guns, my 12x24 inch cutting mat and cardstock.
I had some pipes and other parts from Prima that are so cool I just had to use them, I need more!!! I also added some black and grey glittery flowers from Prima. I really like my box. Maby I could have lined it with some Silhouette chipboard to make it sturdy since it is quite big. But this will work as long as I am careful with it. This is my project for Hobbyworld this week.
If you are here for En liten butiks bloghop, you can find the post here.
I found a really cute pumpkin when I went to the store and bought it without really knowing what to do with it. I was thinking about carving a face but then came to think about my Martha Stewart Craft Paints. I decided to make a decoration for the table instead. I painted the pumpkin white with gesso, then covered the top part with black paint. Then I applied a layer of Crackle Accent and then some more gesso. I also painted the bottom part messy with glue and covered with glitter. To decorate I used some ribbon, lace and cut out some hearts from cardstock covered with bookpages to put on a string. I think the pumpkin turned out really cute! This is my project for Hobbyworld this week :)
Tis week it’s time for part two in Hobbyworlds awesome fall challenge! Now there is an entire week for you to create a fall inspired kit in three parts for our challenge. There are some great Spellbinders to win! The good thing about making matching kits is that after making the first piece the rest is easy since you allready have everything out. The bad thing is that it makes quite a mess on the scrap table. At least on mine ;)
I made a card, a tag and altered a notepad that happened to be the same color as the papers I used.
For all creations I’ve used Spellbinders embossing folders to emboss cardstock covered in metal tape I had at home. I used a really cool 3D-embossingfolder for the card, it turned out really detailed and cool! I mixed up some MS Craft Paint in gold with some black pearlmaker (it was just the first thing I happened to grab, I guess it would be even better with acrylic paint) and smeared it all over the embossed surface with my fingers. I dabbed off the excess and after drying I also sanded it a bit.
I made the bookmark with another of the new embossing folders from Spellbinders.
The last part of the kit is this notebook, it was laying around and happened to be the same color as the papers I used. I cut out an embossed part with one of the new label shapes from Spellbinders. This one will be great for texts on cards also, the shape is so pretty!
I hope you got a bit inspired to create something for our challenge. I’m looking forward to seeing what you created!
I had an old iPhone cover that started to look a bit shabby. I was going to get a new one but instead I got the idea to paint it with Martha Stewart Craft Paints to make it like new. These paints are great, I got a LOT of different shades and textures from Hobbyworld and I want to paint everything.
I picked one of the turqoise pearl paints and painted the whole cover a couple of times. After that I masked some areas off with washi tape to create a sunburst. I ended up covering everything with some glue and seal just in case. I would reccomend not using the matte finnish since it took some of the bling away. Also, the paint strokes are quite visible, it doesn’t bother me, I guess you could use some kind of roller or foam brush to make them less visible. Just experiment, I used what I had at hand as I always do :)
I got lots of great Martha Stewart Craft Paints in my latest kit from Hobbyworld. I got some Magnet Effect and Crackle Effect too and wanted to try them out. I asked the other girls in the team for some ideas and got the suggestion to make a magnet board. I liked the idea and got me a frame and got started.
It ended up really colorful and cool, it looks perfect in my scraproom. On the Magnetic effect it tells you to use the effect on top of your surface and then put the paint on top of it but I wanted to be ale to write on my board with a whiteboard pen so I started with a couple of layers of Sea Lavender Satin Paint. Then I put the Magnetic effect on top of it. I used a couple of extra layers since the glass was between the magnet and the effect. I used a set of brushes that I also got in the kit, great brushes from Martha Stewart!
I painted the frame in the Metallic color Gold, then I added the Crackle Effect and on top I used the color Raspberry Ice. I loved the kitchy result!
I also got some silkscreen stencils from Martha Stewart in my kit. I never tried silkscreen before so I added a golden flower in the corner of my board. I love the detailed result and it was really fun! I was really impressed with the versatile paint, I like that you don’t have to wonder what type of paint to use on a certain surface. Just paint on!
This is one of the things I creatid in Karlstad last weekend. We were supposed to use either a cup or a saucer to create something. I made a smal picture frame from a saucer and fit a picture of my brother and his girlfriend in it. I think it looks very cute!
The other day I got a big box full of dt-goodness from Hobbyworld. One of the many nice things in the box was a textile ink starter kit from Silhouette. It was the first thing I tried out and that was good since my other project wasn’t done in time. I subscribe to a monthly scrapbooking kit and sometimes they ship things in these great fabric bags, of course I save them for future use. I have thought of getting the textile ink starter kit or the one with heat transfer just to make these bags pretty.
This is my last project for Svensk Scrapbookings CC, the challenge was to alter a Champagne glass. I made a small name tag to use as a place card and later to keep track of your glass at the party.
I used some wood veneer stars that I painted with a glitter pen and made a night sky. It’s kind of cute and not to hard to make if you want to mass produce.
I have some trouble keeping track of my scrapbooking. When was the last entry date for that challenge and when was my DT-creation supposed to be done? There isn’t a chance for me to keep it all in my head and when I saw that Svensk Scrapbooking had a challenge to alter a calendar I saw my chance to get it all under control. I’m also blogging this for Hobbyworld later this week if you want more details.
I’m really happy with my calendar, now I just have to fill it with fun stuff. As a bonus I have my whole scrap-year in one place if I want to go back and see what I’ve made.
