I got inspired by the Winnie & Walter playdate no. 3, the sketch was really cool and since I got some new stamps I actually made a card for the challange too instead of just saving the sketch and forget about it as I usually do when I find a fun challange. So, here is my card and the stamps are Winnie and Walter of course, the background is inspired by some great galaxy-type backgrounds I’ve seen around the web lately. I think the first I saw was in the Watercolor for cardmakers class. I think it turned out really nice. And I had fun making it.
That’s it for today. Tomorrow I think I’ll blog a LO for a change. Check back then :) Thanks for stopping by!
I love this! And thanks for another challenge to add to the list of challenge I won't do. :)

Thanks! :) Glad I'm not the only one who does that. The worst thing is when you actually do a challenge and forget to post it... Doh!

This is beautiful. Did you do the embossing first or the galaxy first?

Thank you :) It's such a fun technique!

Thank you Kim, I did the embossing first and then the galaxy. You will have to be a bit careful if you are impatient like me and use the heat tool to dry the galaxy between layers but I never had any problems with overheating the embossingpowder (yet). But as long as you use opaque embossing powder you can emboss after making the background if you like, I wanted to use pearlescent embossing powder and it is a bit different and takes some of the color from what's under it and would probably have disapered a bit on the busy background. Anothet thing to concider is that the paper warps a bit when applying as much water as I did and you will probably need to tape it down if you want to do the embossing after...

GAH! Thanks SO much for the answer. I've also watched those "galaxy" videos, particularly by Jennifer and Kristina and I've practiced them and practiced them. Yours looks SOOOOO good, and I can imagine that drying inbetween can get a little iffy ..... I'll keep at it and verify that I HAVE an opaque powder before I try anything after the fact.

When I think about it, didn't at least Kristina use watercolor for her galaxy? I used distress inkpads spritzed with water on a craft sheet and just smoshed the paper in it. I have no patience for watercolor I discovered taking the watercolor for cardmakers class ;) Let's see, I think I used chipped saphire, seedless preserves and peacock feathers to make spots of color and then black soot around them... I used water, gold mist, silver mist and white mist to splatter stars and dried it all between layers. I think that was sort of the same as Jennifer did om hers. I could be wrong, I don't have the best memory unforunetly ;) Get right back on it and if it looks like a mess, just keep drying and adding layers. You can do it! :)
