We are celebrating A blog named Hero since the blog is two years old and we are doing it with a blog hop. If you came here from Lisa Stein, you are on the right track. Lisa makes really fun and imaginative cards I think. If you came here any other way and wants to hop along please go to A blog named hero and start there :)
The theme is of course birthday and I made this card in black and white. I based it on a layout I did a while ago that also was split in two parts. I really think it’s a fun effect! I wanted the sentiment to be two colored too so I made sure to place it right over the two papers.
Next stop on the way is Virginia Lu, go see what she created. I’m sure you will love it, she is such a talented cardmaker. I love her colorful cards.
Thank you so much for stopping by, please leave a comment before hopping along to increase your chace of winning prizes from our generous sponsors Simon Says Stamp and Hero Arts :)
Here are the supplies I used for my card
Wow! Love how you did the sentiment too! Super cool card!

Thank you Suzette! Glad you wanted to celebrate with us! Temporary adhesive is very helpful (or washi/post-it notes), adhere the sides just as you want them to some flat surface. Then stamp the sentiment or whatever image you like to overlap both papers with embossing ink and then remove the papers to heat emboss them individually. Then you can splatter all you want before matching the sides back together again and adhere them to your cardbase :) I hope that was some help! I'd love to see your take on the card if you make one, have fun!

Posted by: Debbie V | Thursday, 03 April 2014 at 08:17
Amazing card! I'll have to figure out how you stamped two colors, or did you cut the paper and then glued them back together again after you stamped them in black and white? Thanks for making my brain work overtime! LOL
Posted by: Carmen Lucero | Thursday, 03 April 2014 at 08:56
Thank you Carmen! I cut my papers to size, temporarily adhered them to match up perfectly and than stamped over both panels using embossing ink. Then I heat embossed them one by one and made sure to add the splatter before putting them back together. Easy peasy ;) god luck!
