I colored this poppy image from Crafter's Companion when I was doing the 30 days coloring challenge and I was kind of happy with how they turned out so I used them for a card for Design in Papers today. It's really nothing fancy, the poppies makes the whole card I think. It's such a lovely stamp.
So, what's with the puppies then? Well we got a new family member, meet Jax the Saluki puppy <3
Isn't he cute? He's a real sweet dog, he's our second Saluki and I really think they are such great dogs.
This will be a very long post with lots of pictures. Last week I visited Birmingham and the Hobby Craft + Stitch international trade show together with Cicci and Katalin from DESIGN in PAPERS. I had a really good time, three days just rushed by! I wanted to post some pictures and share some of the fun. Since there was a lot of pictures they are kind of in a random order, no real rhyme or reason in the order they appear.
This is from the last workshop of the last day of the show. This is Andy Skinner, mixed media artist. He designs stamps for Stampendous and make the most amazing works of art. He was also very entertaining and this workshop was one of my favourites. Very inky fingers after this and I had so much fun and learned a lot!
We made cute pieces of wall art, this is mine. Aren't they amazing? And it was not hard at all. I really need to try this at home too. It looks way harder than it is.

I spent most of the time in the Crafters Companion area. I signed up for all of their workshops and loved trying the whole Spectrum Noir product range and other things. Here is Sheena Douglass, she was a treat to listen to! She makes some awesome stamps and dies among other things. Really realistic. And here she is talking about the Spectrum Noir Aqua Tints, one product I was very impressed by. I can't wait to play with them. Lucky me, I got a set to take home. These guys are super generous!
Here Leann Chivers are demonstrating the Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I really enjoyed this demonstration as well as the Aqua markers and the blendable pencils too. It is really cool learning from the woman who designed the products. She is also really sweet and fun, like all of the Crafters Companion Crew. I also got to meet Sara Davies who is the woman behind the company, she started the company in her early twenties, very cool! She was demonstrating the large A3 scoreboard. Being a Swede and using the metric system for all things except papercrafting I was really happy to see that one side had scorelines in inches and the other side in cm. How convenient! I really didn't know I needed this tool but I apparently did.
We went to the British Craft Awards one night. There was a LOT of prizes presented in a really high tempo but I really enjoyed it. Our friends at Crafters Companion and Tonic Studios won several awards even though competing with some well known companies like Martha Stewart and Spellbinders. The coolest thing was the fact that everyone was cheering for each other and it felt like this is a community where people care for each other and are happy for others success.
Here are Lynell Harlow from Dreamweaver. I was lucky enough to walk by the Stampendous booth just as she was setting up a workshop and she was really nice and asked if I wanted to join when someone didn't show up. Of course I wanted! This was such a fun workshop with lots of techniques. Lynell was really good at explaining the products and I enjoyed listening to her.
We made a canvas wall piece with ocean theme. I really loved seeing how everyones turned out. All the same materials but still all different.
Pretty cool, right? I loved the black embossing paste, I'm looking forward to playing some more with it!
One of the nights we went to dinner with the ladies from Fabscraps. I had a great time. This is Bridget or Bee as her friends call her and she runs things and also designs the lovely products. She told me a lot about living and running a company in South Africa. Quite a contrast from what I'm used to and the opposite from north of Sweden where I used to live. It was a fun evening. I really should have taken a picture of the lovely dress forms made from Fabscrap paper in the monter. Sooooo cool!
This was a display from a company selling storage bins. There are all little storage boxes, how cool is this??? Being a video game geek I LOVED this! I only wish there was room enough to take a picture of all of it at once.
This is the Sizzix booth. I thought it was so pretty with all the butterflies. I was very happy to run into Pete Hughes from Sizzix again, we met a couple of years ago and he was really inspiring. He gave me some great advice back then that I had good use for when I started making my own cut files for Pretty Crafty Stuff. Also he is super nice. I was doing a make and take with him, a felt flower pin and he had to help me to sew because that is so not my thing doing fancy stitching. It was a mess, I was VERY thankful for the help getting it all together. It turned out pretty in the end.
Here is another part of the Sizzix display. Love the colors. I wish I had remembered to take a picture of Petes amazing photo cubes and wall art. So cool! And I forgot to take a picture of us together like I did last time.
I think Tonic Studios won the award for great customer service. We were saying they really should do some more colors than orange on their products and the guys used their new glitter to make a pair of pink glittery scissors for Katalin. It turned out very cute. I'm still waiting for my glittered die cut machine ;)
Last but not least. Tania from WOW was the one suggesting I should go and I'm so happy I went. Here is my kind of creative space. Lots of lovely things! I kind of forgot to take pictures since everyone was so nice and I loved just looking around so much.
I stole this picture from WOW at instagram, I don't think they mind. This is me and lovely DT coordinator (among other things) Tania. It was so great to finally see her in person, she is just as sweet as she looks. I wish the days hadn't gone by so fast. I would have loved to hang around the booth a bit more. I also met Marion Emberson who designs amazing things, she is super sweet and I loved seeing her demonstrating.

We did have some time to do other things too. Here is me getting Starbucks coffee for the very first time. Yes, the first. I am like a century behind everyone else.
The first day we had time to visit the Bullring, a shopping centre with lots of stores and this handsome bull statue outside. I got a really nice pair of shoes that I love. I could not understand the sales clerk asking me if I wanted her to put them in a box. The accent was not what I'm used to hear. She probably thought I was a bit slow ;)
And we even went out to the pub a couple of nights. We were living pretty central and I really felt at home at this place, I think it was called the Victoria. I had to take a picture of this guy :) Fun times!

Last weekend I went to Uddevalla to take two ECCP Copic certification classes. I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time now. It’s a two hour drive from me so I started early, I left home about 6.45. On a sunday. Yaaaaawn! Well, I had a trusty big pot of coffee with me in the car and a nice playlist on Spotify and I kind of enjoy driving by myself. I must admit I do sing quite load to all the songs, even those I don’t know the words to.
I can’t take pictures and drive (safely) at the same time so this is the one picture of my trip. This is the bridge leading in to Uddevalla. It’s really cool. I love bridges, they are beautiful! And I know the picture is blurry, I was looking at the road ;)
A full day of coloring is so much fun! I learned a lot and was totally inspired! I actually did not use my markers much since the last two classes, I felt a bit rusty in the beginning but it got better during the day.
See, I have taken all the classes needed for the exam now, I just need to practice a LOT before it’s time.

And when I got home I started practicing. I’ve been practicing a bit every day now. It’s really fun but I feel like I need a few more markers. Isn’t that always the case? I made a plan, thinking I could buy a few every month and then I calculated I would have all of the pens in.... 4 years... yey... I need to win the lottery or something ;) See the two flying dogs above? I colored them to look like our dogs, I got a laugh out of that. Wanted to make the kids laugh but I think I found it funnier than they did ;)

This is my inspiration for this months challenge at Hobbyworld. I made two quick cards for a double birthday party my son is going to today. I used Basic Greys colorful collection Knee Highs & Bow Ties. I used my sewing machine to stitch in gold thread to make them extra special.
I also wanted to introduce our latest addition to the family :) This is Hugo and he is a 9 weeks old Saluki puppy. He is the cutest puppy ever and we allready love him. Well, our other dog think he is kind of strange still but they are just getting to know eachother. It’s really wierd having a puppy who is allready larger than our other dog. But he is such a great puppy, he learns really fast and seems very happy to live with us.
Last week I had the great pleasure to go to Formex with Hobbyworld. I had the best time! I’ve always wanted to go and it was so great to finally have the chance to be there. I got to meet the Hobbyworld crew and DT, it was just great. So, what did I do? Well, it’s hard work but someone has to do it. I got to sit and scrap for two days using all the fun new products and tools. Also I had great company the whole time, so much fun. Here is a picture of our monter.
I also got a chance to look around and see all the new products the companys was showing in their monters, great inspiration! I wish I could have taken a lot of pictures but you had to ask before taking pictures so I just walked around looking instead. And tasting, you know they have a whole section with pralines and other sweet stuff. Yum! There I spotted these lovely lemonade bottles (yes I asked before taking pictures).
The first morning at the hotel was a bit exciting when the fire alarm in the hotel went off. We climbed down 7 stairs to exit and waited for the fire engines. The fire fighters just went inside and came right back out. False alarm, fortunatley.
While walking to the hotel on friday we saw nine or ten beautiful limousines waiting outside another hotel. I can’t decide if I like the pink one or the hummer better.
On friday we all gathered for a nice dinner toghether. I really enjoyed myself and we even went for drinks after dinner. It was great getting away from home for a couple of days doing what I love, it’s so much fun spending time with scrappers. It was a great experience and I was so well taken care of all the time, it couldn’t have been better.
Right now I’m reloading. Next wekend we have kick-off at work and I’ll be away from my familly again. I really miss my kids and husband when I’m away, I’m kind of sad the summer vacation is over and we all spend the days apart. I’ve gotten used to having them all around all the time.
Anyways, I just wanted to tell you about Formex. I’m going to blog some of what I made there as soon as I get some time to spare.
Ett kort jag gjorde när jag lekte med mitt första Studio Calico-kit. Av nån anledning är jag inte helt nöjd med detta. Det känns som om nåt saknas eller som om proportionerna inte är helt rätt. Kunde som inte komma på vad jag skulle göra åt det så det fick bli såhär,
Den randiga washitejpen är så underbart söt och cykelstämplarna som följde med också. Jag älskar stämplar med cyklar, träd och skrivmaskiner men vet aldrig riktigt vad jag ska göra med dem sen. Det rosa bakgrundspappret är helt underbart fint. Baksidan är också söt men inte riktigt så här fin.
Idag firar jag och maken tvåårig bröllopsdag. Kanske att han får ett fint kort och en liten present av mig. Man vet aldrig. Vi hade ett jättefint bröllop och jag är så glad att vi äntligen blev gifta. Efter tio år ihop började jag nästan ge upp hoppet ;) Här kommer en bild från festen. Visst ser vi äckligt lyckliga ut där? Jag hade ingen röst och ögoninflammation men det märkte jag inte av. Jag kraxade fram ett ja i kyrkan i vart fall, en sån tur att det hördes. Det är min duktiga lillebror som tagit bilderna från bröllopet. Jag har massor av superfina bilder, han följde med dagen innan när jag gjorde förberedelserna och fotade och så hela dagen när vi bytte om och var hos frissan och så. Roligt att ha kvar.
Nåja, nog om detta.Grattis älskling (för jag vet ju att du läser här)! Puss och kram! Och grattis till bästa brudtärnan Anna som fyller år idag också, du smyger väl också här tror jag. Kram till dig med!
Idag var det dags för 4-årskalas här hemma. Jag tror att det blev lyckat för både barn och föräldrar verkade ha rätt trevligt. Det blev glass i stora lass och cakepops. Man måste ju göra det lätt för sig ;-)
Jag har fått lite frågor om recept på cakepops så jag tänkte bjussa på receptet. Jag såg lite olika varianter på nätet och gjorde lite på måfå så några exakta mått har jag inte.
Krossa kakorna till smulor. Jag körde mina i min Kitchen Aid med flatblandaren efter att jag krossat dem lite med en slev. Jag tror att en mixer med knivar är snäppet bättre men i nödfall går det nog att stoppa dem i en påse och banka med en kavel. Sedan klickade jag i små klickar med philadelphiaost medan jag blandade i maskinen tills “degen” var lagom att rulla bollar med, det är nog lätt att den blir svårarbetad om man har i för mycket.
Sen är det bara att rulla bollar i lämplig storlek. Ställ dem kallt medan du smälter choklad så stelnar de lite. Ta klubbpinnar, kapade grillspett eller som jag papperssugrör (jag hittade mina på Lagerhaus) och doppa först i chokladen och stick fast i bollarna. På så sätt trillar de inte av när du doppar dem sen. Sen när chokladen på pinnarna stelnat så är det bara att doppa i choklad, låt rinna av lite och låt stelna ett tag innan du doppar dem i strössel. Annars får du massor av choklad i strösslet. Om chokladen är för tjock kan du blanda i lite kokosfett i den så blir den lättare att rulla i om hela bollarna ska vara chokladdoppade.
Jag stack ned mina i sockerskålen medan de stelnade. Sen kan man knyta en söt rosett runt pinnen, sätta fint cellofanpapper runt eller pynta på annat sätt innan servering. Jag sket i det och satte dem i en stadig hög mugg och prioriterade att byta från julgardinerna som jag plötsligt insåg fortfarande satt uppe ;)
Jag gjorde en annan typ också där jag tog stora marshmallows och stack fast på grillpinnar, doppade i choklad och strössel. Enkelt och fint att ställa på bordet!
En bild på kalaspinglan också :) Hon tyckte att det var ett jätteroligt kalas och fick jättefina presenter. Nu har jag placerat dem med godispåsar från fiskedammen i soffan framför en film och pustar ut på sängen. Jag laddar om inför mellon i kväll och har ändrat planerna från hemlagat till hämtmat. Skönt att ha kalasat klart för denna gång!
Gott nytt år på er! Nu har jag kvicknat till efter helgernas firande och frossande. Jag är ledig en vecka till tack och lov, är det fler än jag som känner sig tröttare efter helgerna än innan?
Det är ju många som skriver en sammanfattning av favoritalster från förra året och så men jag tror inte jag ska göra det i år. Istället tänkte jag titta framåt på vad jag vill att detta år ska innehålla. Förra året var ju året då jag riktigt fastnade i scrapträsket och det bar med sig mina första DT-uppdrag också. Jag var på mina första träffar och träffade massor av trevliga och duktiga scrappare. Nu känner jag att jag stannat upp lite i min utveckling, jag vill komma vidare. Lära mig mer. Utvecklas. 2012 kommer jag att fokusera på min egen utveckling som kortmakare och scrappare.
Jag har till och med klurat på HUR jag ska göra detta ;) Ovanligt för att vara jag. Jag har bestämt mig för att provva på lite olika onlinekurser till att börja med. Jag har aldrig gått en kurs utan lärt mig det mesta på egen hand. Youtube och bloggar i all ära men ibland vill man bara ha saker i ett fint paket, färdigt att använda. Så jag tog och anmälde mig till min första onlinekurs.
Jag har alltid beundrat CAS-kortmakarna som får det att se så snyggt ut. Själv blir jag lite nervös och vill gärna stoppa på lite till och lite till tills det inte är så CAS längre. Så därför börjar jag med denna kurs. Jag tror dessutom att CAS är jättebra att ha till grund för “vanliga” kort sen också. Det ska bli jättekul! Längtar!
Sen fick jag en idé. Jag tillbringar rätt mycket tid med att titta på andras bloggar och deras fina alster. Tänk om jag en gång i veckan skulle välja ut ett alster och lifta det. Tänk vad man kan lära sig av andra! Jag ska försöka mig på detta, om det blir ett alster i veckan, varannan vecka eller kanske månaden vet jag inte. Får se hur mycket tid och ork jag har. Jag tror jag tog på mig lite mycket tidvis förra året, det var födelsedagskedjan, alla DT-alster som skulle göras klara och så alla privata kort jag skulle göra plus att jag försökte mig på andra små påhitt emellanåt. Jättekul såklart men ja... Ibland använde jag ordet måste lite för mycket... Ska köra mer på vill i år och DT-uppdrag är kul för sig. Kortkedjan var jättekul också. Men tillsammans blev det rätt mycket ;)
Sen kanske jag ska växla lite med kort, alter och nån LO. Jag ska försöka hitta någon kurs som får mig taggad att göra LOs, jag är lite för rädd för formatet tror jag. Ett steg i den riktningen blir att jag ska testa Smasha. Har beställt mig en Smash-bok som jag ska fylla med vardagliga grejor, kanske några minnen från resor jag gjort eller vad jag nu känner för. Så att jag kommer över det där att det ska vara så speciellt allt man klistrar fast på en LO.
Så, det var mina tankar om det nya året... Vad är dina?
När vi hade lita scrapträff här hemma förra helgen passade jag på att knåpa ihop en namnskylt till Karlstadsträffen. Det är ju såååååå svårt att få till namnskyltar men med lite idéer från Terés och Jenny så blev det en till sist. Så om ni vill hitta mig i Karlstad så leta efter denna namnskylt :)
Kaninen ska då vara jag ;) Jag har lekt med gesso, mister i alla olika färger och så massa stickles på det. Ska det vara så ska det. Den glittrar massor men det syns ju aldrig på bild.
Jag använde ett uppochnedvänt chipboard W från mitt jättepaket med Cosmo Cricket som jag fick för ett tag sen. Det var rätt lagom stort och passade bättre än M-et som följde med.
Och kaninen är såklart också från paketet. Jag har sprayat massor med glimmermist på det så den skimrar Jag tyckte att den behövde en rosett på örat också såklart, och lite bling. Fint ska det va!
